As the farewell song gently fades, a new journey of youth begins. Recently, the Tashkent Campus NWAFU held a unique graduation ceremony for its inaugural cohort of graduates, featuring a series of heartfelt activities including farewell gatherings, degree conferment, symposiums, and field study tours.
As a diplomatic outcome of the China-Uzbekistan heads of state summit and a landmark practice of China‘s higher agricultural and forestry education “going global,” the Tashkent Campus NWAFU has, since its inception, consistently adhered to a high starting point, high standards, and high-quality development. In response to the needs of modern agricultural development in Central Asia, it has actively explored a talent cultivation model that integrates “Chinese language + specialized studies,” “theory + practice,” and “campus training + social engagement.” Over the past two years, under the joint guidance of faculty from both Chinese and Uzbek universities, the inaugural cohort of graduates has systematically acquired professional knowledge, continuously enhanced their research capabilities, and deepened their understanding of China’s development path, agricultural practices, and culture through cross-cultural learning and practical exchanges. They have thus grown into youth envoys bridging friendly cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.
At NWAFU’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony, the inaugural graduates of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, dressed in academic gowns, solemnly received the traditional turning of the tassel and were awarded their degree certificates. This moment marked not only a significant milestone in their personal academic journeys, but also a testament to the achievements of the Campus in talent cultivation — and above all, a symbol that the China-Uzbekistan cooperation in higher agricultural and forestry education has borne its first achievement.

At the Farewell Reception for the 2026 Graduating International Students, ORZIKULOVA MEKHRINOZ, a graduate representative from the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, delivered an emotional speech, reflecting on her unforgettable journey of study and personal growth at Northwest A&F University. She expressed that her time at NWAFU had not only equipped her with solid professional knowledge and strengthened her research capabilities, but also allowed her, through a series of engaging Chinese language classes, to gradually draw closer to China and gain a deeper understanding of the country. By visiting rural villages, exploring NWAFU’s history museum and Expo Park, and touring the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum and the Changleyuan Anti-Japanese agrssion War Industrial Heritage Site, she immersed herself in the profound richness of Chinese civilization, the dynamism of modern China, and the genuine warmth and friendliness of the Chinese people.

On the occasion of farewell, Hu Xiaohui, President of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, chaired the symposium for the inaugural cohort of graduates, attentively listening to their reflections and suggestions on academic studies, campus life, curriculum design, and practical activities, before presenting them with their graduation certificates. At the symposium, faculty and students gathered around, sharing their growth stories, their friendship, and their hopes for the future. She encouraged the graduates to translate what they had learned, seen, and experienced in China into concrete actions in serving their home country‘s development and advancing China-Uzbekistan friendship, and to continue pursuing their aspirations with determination on a broader stage. NAIMJONOV ILKHOM and OLIMOV AVAZBEK expressed their commitment to upholding the values instilled by their alma mater and striving to become well-rounded talents who understand agriculture, appreciate China, bridge China and Uzbekistan, and embrace the future. After the symposium, the inaugural graduates of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, together with some new students of the 2025 cohort, embarked on their final session of the “Experience China” practical education program — a visit to the Maijishan Grottoes in Tianshui, Gansu Province, and the Xifu Old Street in Baoji, Shaanxi Province. Through this immersive experience, they gained an up-close appreciation of the historical depth and cultural allure of Chinese grotto art, further deepening their understanding and identification with China’s fine traditional culture.

All inaugural graduates of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU have now successfully completed their studies. Three of them will continue their doctoral studies here at NWAFU, while the rest have received job offers from well-known companies. From Tashkent to Yangling, from classroom learning to field practice, from professional growth to cultural identification, they have completed a two-year journey across mountains and seas to pursue their youth aspirations. Looking ahead, they will carry with them the expectations and blessings of their alma mater, and embark on new paths in advanced research, agricultural industries, and cooperative networks, contributing their youth and energy to deepening China-Uzbekistan agricultural science and technology cooperation, educational exchanges, and people-to-people bonds.
