From June 27 to 29, the China-Central Asia College Students Innovation and Startup Competition, also serving as the Central Asia regional final of the China International College Students Innovation Competition (2026), was successfully held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The competition was held under the guidance of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, and organized by the Silk Road Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was co-organized by several universities, including Northwest A&F University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi‘an Shiyou University, and Tashkent State Agrarian University. The competition was co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Promotion Association for Global Youth Innovation Leaders Community (PILC). The competition was also supported by China Construction Bank.
The competition received extensive coverage from mainstream media outlets both in China and abroad. A total of 23 domestic and international media platforms provided comprehensive coverage, including Xinhua News Agency, China Daily, Sciencenet, Shaanxi Education News Network, Huashang News, and Shaanxi International Communication Center (SICC) from China, as well as overseas outlets such as the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA), UzDaily.uz, the Silk Road News Network, the Silk Road New Observation, the official website of Tashkent State Agrarian University, Tajikistan's ASAL News Agency, Tajikistan's Dialogue News Network, and Uzbekistan's Renaissance TV. The coverage spanned multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Russian, and Uzbek, and took various forms, such as written articles, videos, and special print editions.
