On January 12, the first batch of master’s students in Agricultural Management from the Tashkent Campus successfully completed their thesis proposal defense. Three graduate students from Uzbekistan’s 2024 cohort presented their thesis proposals. The thesis committee experts reviewed and provided guidance on their proposals.

The thesis topics of Naimjonov Ilkhom, Orzikulova Mekhrinoz, and Umirzoqov O‘Ralbek were closely related to the current state of agriculture in Uzbekistan. They respectively presented the following topics: “The Impact of Uzbekistan’s Green Cotton Production on Exports and Optimization Strategies”, “The Impact of Digital Marketing on Uzbekistan’s Cherry Export Trade”, and “Ensuring Food Security by Improving the Production Efficiency of Fruits and Vegetables”. They reported on the background and significance, research approaches, methods, and expected results of their topics. The thesis committee experts questioned and evaluated the topics from aspects such as the value of the topic, research framework, innovation, feasibility, and the scientific and normative quality of the research design. They offered valuable suggestions for revision and improvement. The students all expressed their intent to refine their research plans based on the experts' feedback, ensuring the smooth progress of their subsequent thesis work.

This thesis proposal defense not only served as an evaluation of the first batch of students’ learning achievements from the Tashkent Campus, but also marked an important practice in implementing the Sino-foreign "dual supervisor" cultivation model. It showcased the preliminary results of our college’s efforts in talent development of the branch campus, and accumulated useful experience for the future cultivation of branch students. The college will continue to strengthen the management of branch graduate student training and assist them in producing high-quality research outcomes, injecting new momentum into the agricultural development of both China and Uzbekistan.
