On October 28, the Tashkent Chinese Language Education Center NWAFU conducted Chinese language training for more than 70 teachers and students in Uzbekistan.

The training was delivered by Wang Jueqing, a lecturer from the Department of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages at the College of Language and Culture. The course covered a wide range of topics, from Chinese pronunciation and the evolution of Chinese characters to an overview of Chinese culture and comparisons between Chinese and Uzbek cultures, as well as practical language skills such as learning pinyin, greetings, and everyday expressions. The sessions were engaging and conducted in a friendly atmosphere. A series of follow-up cultural activities—including calligraphy, paper-cutting, and appreciation of Chinese music—will be organized to stimulate local learners’ interest in the Chinese language and culture, enhance their language skills, and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.

Vice Rector Abduvasikov Abduaziz Abdulazizovich of Tashkent State Agrarian University expressed high praise for the initiative. He emphasized that China is Uzbekistan’s largest trading partner and that learning Chinese can meet the needs of economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries. He also stated that the two universities will further strengthen multi-field cooperation, attract more students to study Chinese, and expressed hope that more Chinese teachers will go to Uzbekistan in the future for teaching and academic exchange.

Our university’s Tashkent Campus is the first university branch established by China in Uzbekistan and represents an important initiative to implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of China and Uzbekistan, as well as to build a high-level China–Uzbekistan cooperative education brand. Currently, the first cohort of students has enrolled at the Tashkent Campus, and efforts are underway to upgrade and renovate the campus facilities and experimental training bases. The Tashkent Chinese Language Education Center will regularly dispatch Chinese language teachers to ensure that language proficiency, communication, and harmonious development take priority, providing linguistic support, cultivating language talents, and offering a solid language foundation to facilitate the university’s “going global” initiatives.
