On the morning of December 17, a delegation of teachers and students from the First Winter Camp of the Tashkent Campus visited the College of Economics and Management, embarking on an in-depth journey of academic exchange and cultural interaction. The Winter Camp participants consisted of outstanding Uzbek university students planning to pursue a master’s degree at the Tashkent Campus in 2026, as well as young teachers interested in future collaboration with our university. The delegation was warmly received by Vice Dean Liu Jundi, who led the College representatives in welcoming the visitors.

The delegation’s first stop was the Behavioral Economics and Policy Simulation Laboratory of the College. A team of doctoral students provided a detailed introduction to the laboratory’s structure, operational mechanisms, and the functions and applications of its equipment, guiding the teachers and students to experience the virtual reality (VR) system. In the “Virtual Supermarket” consumer decision experiment, the participants simulated shopping in a virtual environment and collected and analyzed behavioral data, gaining a direct understanding of the mechanisms behind irrational decision-making. This cutting-edge academic practice was a novel experience for the participants, who expressed that they “truly felt the innovative vitality of interdisciplinary research.”

At the forum, Professor Zhu Yuchun provided a comprehensive introduction to the International Agricultural Management Talent Program. Using examples of international educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, she offered an in-depth analysis of the strategic value and implementation pathways for China–Uzbekistan educational collaboration, sparking lively discussion among the participants. During the course planning presentation, Professor Li Hua, Professor Chen Haibin, and Lecturer Liu Ying each provided systematic explanations of three core courses—Frontiers in Management Theory and Practice, Resource and Environmental Economics III, and Food Economics and Policy—highlighting the course content and teaching features. This gave the Winter Camp participants a clear understanding of the curriculum, and both teachers and students highly praised the internationalization and cutting-edge nature of the course offerings.

During the interactive session, Turaev Hamid (Chinese name: Yu Tu), a doctoral student currently studying at the College, and Naimjonov Ilkhom (Chinese name: Chen Long), a representative of the 2024 cohort of the Tashkent Campus, shared their experiences and personal growth while studying in China, expressing their admiration for Chinese culture and appreciation for the College’s educational approach. The session concluded with free discussions between Chinese and Uzbek teachers and students, during which culturally themed souvenirs were exchanged. The event was met with continuous applause and a warm, convivial atmosphere.

Through on-site visits, specialized presentations, and interactive exchanges, this Winter Camp not only provided Uzbek students with a comprehensive understanding of the teaching resources, curriculum system, and educational characteristics of the College of Economics and Management, but also built a direct communication bridge between Chinese and Uzbek teachers and students. As one of the first colleges to enroll students from the Tashkent Campus, the College has consecutively admitted two cohorts since 2024. Looking ahead, the College will continue to optimize enrollment services and teaching cooperation for the Tashkent Campus, attract more outstanding Uzbek students, and inject new vitality into China–Uzbekistan educational exchange and talent cultivation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
