President Wu Pute Meets with Oblomuradov Narzullo Naimovich, Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University of Uzbekistan
Wu Pute reviewed the history of cooperation between our university and Tashkent State Agrarian University. He noted that since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2019, the two institutions have maintained close ties and achieved fruitful results. In 2024, the jointly established Tashkent Campus was officially inaugurated, marking an important step in building a high-level China–Uzbekistan joint education brand, and it has been included in the framework of the Uzbek President’s state visit to China. Going forward, our university will make every effort to prepare for the first cohort of students from the Tashkent Campus to study in China. Taking the signing of this agreement as an opportunity, we will continue to expand the breadth and depth of cooperation in agricultural education, explore innovative talent training models, and build an even higher-level inter-university partnership.
Oblomuradov Narzullo Naimovich spoke highly of our university’s outstanding contributions in the fields of agricultural science and education, and expressed strong expectations for further academic exchange, scientific research collaboration, and faculty–student visits in the future. He stated that both sides should closely align with the strategic consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state, make full use of the “Belt and Road” agricultural cooperation platform, and promote the Tashkent Campus to achieve new progress. He emphasized enhancing teaching and research capacity in agriculture and related fields, so as to provide strong support for the sustainable agricultural development of both countries.

The Two Sides Signs the Inter-university Agreement on Majors for Tashkent Campus NWAFU
Both sides agreed that our university will provide annual training for relevant researchers from Tashkent State Agrarian University to support the development of local agricultural science and technology talent. Based on existing facilities, the two sides will further enhance the campus’s software and hardware conditions to continuously improve its educational environment and service capacity. They will also jointly establish research centers focusing on Uzbekistan’s key industries—such as tea, figs, and apples—to carry out substantive scientific research cooperation. In addition, the two sides will strengthen collaboration through the Tashkent Chinese Language Education Center, jointly compile Chinese teaching materials, and apply together for intergovernmental cooperation projects between China and Uzbekistan. These efforts aim to deepen research cooperation, enhance the influence of joint initiatives, and increase the visibility of their scientific achievements.
Regarding the development of the Tashkent Campus, according to the agreement, the two sides will add two new majors—Agronomy and Seed Industry and Resources Use and Plant Protection—on the basis of the existing three majors, and will jointly launch a dual-master’s-degree program. The program lasts for two years. Students will be registered at both our university and Tashkent State Agrarian University and will alternate their studies between the two institutions. Upon completing the training requirements of both sides, students will be awarded master’s degree certificates from both universities.
