On June 18, three postgraduate students of the 2024 cohort of the Master of Agriculture (Agricultural Management) program of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU — NAIMJONOV ILKHOM, ORZIKULOVA MEKHRINOZ, and UMIRZOQOV O‘RALBEK — successfully completed all required training components, attended NWAFU’s graduation and degree conferment ceremony as scheduled, and thereby officially graduated. As one of the first colleges to enroll students of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, the College of Economics and Management has successfully completed the cultivation of the first cohort of postgraduates of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU.
The postgraduate program at the Tashkent Campus has a two-year duration and adopts a “1+1” cultivation model. Postgraduate students complete their coursework in the first year at Tashkent State Agrarian University, and the remaining training components in the second year at NWAFU. Upon enrollment of the first postgraduate cohort in September 2024, the College of Economics and Management matched each student with a supervisor and provided individualized, professional academic guidance. In the fall semester of 2024 and the spring semester of 2025, the College of Economics and Management dispatched faculty teams of the three English-taught core courses — “Frontiers of Management Theory and Practice”, “Resource and Environmental Economics III” and “Food Economics and Policy” — to teach at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, successfully fulfilling their teaching assignments.
After joining the College of Economics and Management in September 2025, the three students quickly became active members of their supervisors’ research teams and proceeded with their research. They successfully completed all stages of their degree training, including thesis proposal defense, mid-term review, Double-blind thesis review, and the final oral defense of their dissertations. Upon graduation, all three students expressed a strong aspiration to pursue doctoral studies at the College of Economics and Management, instilling confidence in the sustained advancement of talent cultivation at the Tashkent Campus.
The successful graduation of the inaugural cohort not only affirms the comprehensive capacity of the College of Economics and Management in teaching organization, supervisor allocation, process management, and quality assurance in the development of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, but also establishes a replicable and scalable model for the joint cultivation of high-level talents between China and Uzbekistan in the field of agricultural management. Currently, the class of 2025 postgraduates of the Tashkent Campus NWAFU have completed their coursework at Tashkent State Agrarian University and are scheduled to arrive at NWAFU early July for the subsequent phase of their training. Building on the experience gained from the first cohort, the College of Economics and Management will continue to refine its training programs and promote the high-quality development of postgraduate education at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, aiming to cultivate a new generation of internationally oriented agricultural management talents who are knowledgeable about China, friendly to China, and capable of applying their knowledge to practice, thereby contributing to agricultural cooperation and regional development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
