From March to May 2026, the course teams of “Resource and Environmental Economics III” and “Food Economics and Policy” from the College of Economics and Management traveled to the Tashkent Campus NWAFU and successfully completed the teaching of the core courses — delivered entirely in English — for the 2025 cohort of the Master of Agriculture (Agricultural Management) program.

The course “Resource and Environmental Economics III”, totaling 32 class hours, was jointly taught by Professor Chen Haibin, Professor Zhang Han, and Associate Professor Yan Zhenyu. Building on the localization and adaptation efforts made during the first year, the teaching team further took into account the agricultural resource endowments and ecological challenges of Uzbekistan’s arid regions. They systematically introduced China’s typical practices and successful experiences in the development, utilization and conservation of agricultural resources, guiding the postgraduate students at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU to explore practical pathways for sustainable agricultural development in arid areas. This approach achieved a deep integration of theoretical instruction with regional realities.

The course “Food Economics and Policy”, totaling 32 class hours, was jointly delivered by Professor Ren Yanjun, Professor Kong Rong, and Ms. Liu Ying. This course integrates multidisciplinary knowledge spanning economics, management, sociology, agricultural science, and food science and engineering. It focuses on cutting-edge theories in food economics and management, the impact of international trade on food economy and policy, and agricultural product marketing, among other topical issues. Through interactive teaching methods such as case studies and group discussions, the course effectively helps students build their capacity to analyze food systems from a global perspective.

During this academic year, while continuing to deliver its courses, the College of Economics and Management actively expanded the breadth and depth of its international education exchanges. In December 2025, the College successfully held the first Winter Camp session at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, building a bridge for students planning to apply to the campus to gain an in-depth understanding of China’s agriculture and culture. In April 2026, the College successfully held a Spring Camp session, further deepening exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Uzbek youth. In addition, in March of this year, the College organized an online orientation meeting for the 2025 cohort of students at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU and set up a dedicated WeChat group, establishing a convenient and efficient communication platform for daily interaction and academic guidance between faculty and students.

As one of the first colleges to enroll students at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU, the College of Economics and Management has attached great importance to the training quality of the inaugural cohort. The 2024 cohort of Master of Agriculture (Agricultural Management) students has, in strict accordance with the training program requirements, successfully completed key stages such as thesis proposal and mid-term assessment. Going forward, the College will strictly follow the degree conferral regulations to organize the blind review and thesis defense as scheduled, ensuring a high-quality conclusion to the training of the first cohort of master’s students at the Tashkent Campus NWAFU.
