The First Winter Camp of Tashkent Campus NWAFU Officially Opens

On December 12th, the Opening Ceremony of the First Winter Camp of Tashkent Campus NWAFU was held in Yangling. Vice President Zhang Hongming attended the ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Responsible officials from the Tashkent Campus, the College of Agronomy, the College of Plant Protection, the College of Horticulture, the College of Animal Science and Technology, the College of Economics and Management, and the College of Language and Culture participated in the event.



Zhang Hongming, on behalf of Northwest A&F University, extended a warm welcome to the faculty and students participating in the First Winter Camp of Tashkent Campus NWAFU. He introduced the universitys situation and the development of the Tashkent Campus, touching on aspects such as universitys history and cooperation along the Belt and Road. He also reviewed the university's journey in recruiting international students to China and its achievements. He encouraged the students to cherish the opportunity for exchange in China, to closely experience the achievements of China's modern agricultural development, and to observe and reflect deeply. He urged them to bring back to Uzbekistan the insights, thoughts, and feelings they gained in China, and to become youthful ambassadors of Sino-Uzbek friendship. Furthermore, he sincerely invited the students to actively apply for the 2026 Master's program at the Tashkent Campus. He emphasized that the academic interests, cultural identity, and collaborative aspirations inspired during their time in China should be translated into concrete actions for further study at Northwest A&F University. He encouraged them to transform the knowledge, skills, and ideas learned in China into practical results that contribute to Sino-Uzbek agricultural cooperation and cultural exchange.

Vice Rector Abduvasikov Abduaziz Abdulazizovich of Tashkent State Agrarian University expressed his honor in leading a delegation to participate in the Winter Camp. He sincerely thanked our university for providing the valuable opportunity for Uzbek faculty and students to engage in an exchange in China. He emphasized that both sides should implement the outcomes of the diplomatic agreements between the Heads of State of China and Uzbekistan, expand the cooperation channels between the two universities, and build a model for agricultural education cooperation between the two countries.

This Winter Camp, themed " Experience a Colorful China and Explore Farming Culture", lasts for 10 days. The participants primarily consist of outstanding university students from Uzbekistan, who are set to pursue Master's degrees at the Tashkent Campus in 2026, as well as young teachers who are interested in future collaboration with our university. During their stay in China, the participants will visit specialized academic institutes of the Tashkent Campus, take part in cultural experiences such as Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting, and tour historical and cultural sites, including the University History Museum, the Terracotta Army, and the Ancient City Wall. They will also visit educational and research bases like the Museum Garden and Yangling Smart Agriculture Demonstration Park, where they will gain a systematic understanding of the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and the latest achievements in China's agricultural science and technological innovation.

After the opening ceremony, the university leaders from both sides held a special meeting on the 2026 admissions for the Tashkent Campus. They engaged in in-depth discussions on adding new programs for the next academic year, optimizing the admissions structure, improving the selection mechanism, and establishing stable and efficient communication channels for publicity. During the meeting, both sides signed the Minutes of the 2026 Admissions Meeting for Tashkent Campus NWAFU and approved the 2026 Admissions Brochure of Tashkent Campus NWAFU.
