Delegation visiting the China–Uzbekistan Water-Saving Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park
The delegation inspected the project “Construction of the China–Uzbekistan Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park and Agricultural Culture Exchange Activities,” which was approved on the basis of the China–Uzbekistan Water-Saving Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park. Shokirov Shukhrat Sobirovich, Vice Rector of Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, presented the cooperation progress on behalf of both universities. The delegation was briefed on the achievements of the eight high-level agricultural science and technology demonstration parks established by our university in the fields of crop breeding, pest and disease control, water-saving irrigation, animal husbandry and veterinary science, saline–alkali land management and development, and food processing. They also conducted in-depth visits to the experimental demonstration zones, gaining a detailed understanding of our university’s integrated water-saving irrigation technologies and equipment, as well as their radiative and driving effects. Xiao Han fully affirmed the progress of the project, noting that the construction of the China–Uzbekistan Water-Saving Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park has moved beyond the initial stage and now possesses a solid foundation for scaling up from “pilot breakthroughs” to “broader application.” He expressed the hope that both sides would use the completion of the approved project as an opportunity to strengthen the close alignment of the demonstration park with enterprises, industrial chains, and local farmers, promote the overseas adoption of China’s advanced agricultural machinery, and enable scientific and technological achievements to be transformed more rapidly and effectively into tangible benefits that increase local farmers’ yields and incomes. He also emphasized the importance of summarizing and refining successful practices, expanding publicity and influence, and telling compelling stories of China–Uzbekistan agricultural cooperation and people-to-people ties.
