Introduction to Tashkent State Agrarian University

Tashkent State Agrarian University was founded in 1930, originally as the Tashkent Agricultural Institute. It was reorganized into an agrarian university in 1991 and is the most comprehensive agricultural university in Uzbekistan in terms of disciplines. It is also one of the earliest established and most prestigious agricultural education institutions in Central Asia. The University has 562 faculty and staff members and 14,485 enrolled students. It operates four campuses (Tashkent, Nukus, Termez, and Andijan) and comprises 8 faculties and 26 departments, covering the entire spectrum of agricultural sciences, including Department of Agricultural Biotechnology, Standardization and Certification, Faculty of Plant Protection, Agrochemistry and Soil Science, Department of Sericulture and Mulberry Growing, Faculty of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Viticulture, Faculty of Forestry and Landscape Design, Department of General Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Agrotechnologies. Currently, the University hosts over 20 agricultural laboratories and implements more than 50 research projects annually. It has established cooperative relationships with over 150 universities worldwide, including institutions in China, the United States, Germany, Japan, and South Korea. Since 2018, the University has collaborated with foreign higher education institutions to offer joint dual-degree programs, training high-quality international agricultural professionals.
